An ocean swell is the epitome of movement. We were drawn to its dynamic reflections and translucent surface with ever changing peaks and troughs. Our research was not to mimic nature but to learn from our experience of it.

Swell is an elliptical piece that embodies movement, weight and transparency through contrasting materials and a series of geometric illusions. The shape rises to gently touch a floating glass plane. Polished metal connections between slender bamboo profiles form a suspended mesh, whose transparency alters depending on your view. The undulations of the ocean are captured but not frozen.
